Emergency sandbags

In the event that we experience high water and flooding, we are providing sandbags for your use. Sandbags are being placed at the following locations in Guildford town centre:

  1. Fays Passage, Bedford Road

  2. Mary Road car park

  3. Millbrook car park

  4. Millmead Court, Millmead

  5. Portsmouth Road car park

In addition, rural stockpile locations can be found on this map (and are listed below):

Sandbags are also available from Woking Road Depot between 8.30am and 3pm, Monday to Friday.

Woking Road Depot
Woking Road

Sandbags are restricted to six per domestic property.

Sandbags weigh approximately 25kgs (55lbs) so please take care when lifting and carrying them. If you have difficulty please ask your friends or neighbours to help.

There is no statutory obligation for us to provide sandbags to local residents and businesses. However, we continue to do all we can to help local people affected by flooding.

Although we aim to supply sandbags when flooding is forecast, we cannot guarantee they will be available. Please try to make your own flood protection arrangements if you live in an at-risk area.  Most local builders merchants supply sandbags and sand.  You can also purchase permanent flood protection products for the longer-term. For advice on flood protection, visit the Environment Agency website.
