Hire of public parks and open spaces

From music concerts and fun fairs to sponsored walks and fetes, why not choose one of our beautiful green spaces for your event? You can hire a park for fitness sessions, filming, balloon launches and more.

Our parks are home to many sporting activities which you can enjoy by hiring a sports pitch or court.

Award-winning parks

Several of our parks have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award, which was set up to recognise the best parks and green spaces in the country. 

Guildford Parks that have won the award include Stoke Park, Guildford Castle GroundsSutherland Memorial Park and Allen House Grounds

Ranger Service

The Ranger Service is a mobile patrol which provides a uniformed, reassuring presence in Guildford's green spaces and a friendly first point of contact with park users.

Ranger Service operating hours:

  • Monday - Thursday 9am - 10pm

  • Friday - Sunday 9am - 8pm (9am - 9pm from May to September).

While Guildford Borough Council owns most allotment site land, all management, including how to obtain a plot, is undertaken by Guildford Allotment Society.

Stoke Park

Guildford's largest park, which has retained its Green Flag Award winning status this year has plenty of beautiful open green space, a fully-equipped children's playground and skate park. The park is packed full of activities to enjoy, including a paddling pool, boating pond and minigolf.

Kingston Meadows

A popular park, with a fully-equipped children's playground, plenty of open green space and a range of sports facilities including a full size football pitch, tennis court and BMX track.

Onslow Village Recreation Ground

A large open green space with children's playground, an arboretum, and lots of sports facilities to use and enjoy, including a full size football pitch.

Shalford Park

Boasting a large amount of open green space and several full size football pitches, this park is perfect whether you enjoy relaxation or exercise and activity.

Stoke Recreation Ground

With a well-equipped playground and plenty of open grassy space to play in, this park is ideal for families and children of all ages.

Sutherland Memorial Park

A beautiful, award-winning green space with a fully-equipped playground and wide variety of sports facilities.

Allen House Grounds

An eye-catching open green space in the centre of Guildford, ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of town. Free sports facilities available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Westnye Gardens

The Parks and Leisure Services team has worked with local residents to update Westnye Gardens and create a beautiful, fun play garden.

Green Flag Award

The Green Flag Award Scheme, run by Keep Britain Tidy, was set up to recognise the best parks and green spaces in the country.
