Supplementary planning documents

What is a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)?

Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) are non-statutory documents that support the delivery of the Local Development Plan. SPDs cover a wide range of issues within the Local Plan and are produced in order to provide detailed guidance on how policies or proposals in development plan documents will be implemented.

Upcoming SPDs

The Council continues to produce SPDs in certain areas as outlined within the Local Plan. To see current and past consultations on draft SPDs, please visit the planning policy consultation portal.

Adopted SPDs need to be read in conjunction with the Local Plan 2015-2034 Development Plan.
